The images above show, from the left, the scene that would have greeted the visitor approaching the town from Point, to the west, then passing beneath King James Gate and proceeding along High Street. On reaching the Square Tower the visitor turns and looks back towards the gate.
Turning round again, the visitor sees the entrance to Battery Row, and then moves up the High Street towards Grand Parade
