The Council of the Borough of Portsmouth (November 1st, 1839)

On November 1st 1838 one third (14) of the Councillors retired and submitted themselves for re-election. 8 Councillors lost their seats. In addition, one other Councillor was replaced. There were no elections to the Aldermanic Bench in November 1839. There was an election for Mayor.
