On November 1st 1838 one third (14) of the Councillors retired and submitted themselves for re-election. 8 Councillors lost their seats. In addition, one other Councillor was replaced. The elections to the Aldermanic Bench resulted in 7 Aldermen (*) being re-elected. There was an election for Mayor.
