The Council of the Borough of Portsmouth (November 1st, 1849)

There was a bye-election in August. On November 1st 1849 one third (14) of the Councillors retired and submitted themselves for re-election. 4 Councillors lost their seats. There were no elections to the Aldermanic Bench. There was an election for Mayor.
