The Council of the Borough of Portsmouth (November 1st, 1837)
On November 1st 1837 one third (14) of the Councillors retired and submitted themselves for re-election. 8 Councillors lost their seats. In addition, two other Councillors were replaced. There were no elections to the Aldermanic Bench but there was an election for Mayor.
