N.B. Section 1 of the Local Elections and Register of Electors (Temporary Provisions) Act of 1939 postpones the elections of Aldermen and Councillors of a County or Borough; and extends the term of office of existing Aldermen and Councillors. Vacancies arising from resignation, death or other causes will be filled by election by the Council concerned.
