The Council of the Borough of Portsmouth (November 1st, 1843)

There was one bye-election, in July. On November 1st 1843 one third (14) of the Councillors retired and submitted themselves for re-election. 6 Councillors lost their seats. There were no elections to the Aldermanic Bench in November 1843. There was an election for Mayor.
