June 4th 1959 - The Casuals appear at the Savoy Ballroom for the Portsmouth Group Sports and Social Club.
 
June 5th 1959 - The Wee Willie Harris Package Show with the Rocking "Rockets", and the Batchelors appear at the Savoy Ballroom. The Tia Juana Jazzband from Southampton play at the Star Inn, Lake Road.
 
June 8th 1959 - Guildhall is re-opened by the Queen after the rebuild with a sell-out Inaugural concert with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, guest conductor Sir Arthur Bliss and George Thalben-Ball at the organ. The Musical "Gigi" is performed at the Theatre Royal. The Royal Ballet dance at the Kings Theatre. The Portsmouth Music Club have a concert in the Lecture Hall of the Central Library by the Portsmouth Teachers String Orchestra conducted by Reginald Wassell.
 
June 9th 1959 - Chris Barber and his Band with Ottilie Patterson, play at a sell-out Guildhall.
 
June 10th 1959 - The BBC Symphony Orchestra play at the Guildhall. The Vieux Carre Jazz Band play at the Cobden Arms.
 
June 11th 1959 - Vic Oliver conducts the Bristish Concert Orchestra at the Guildhall. At the Guildhall, a concert by the Portsmouth Schools Festival Choir of 400 with Reginald Wassell, Portsmouth Technical High School music master, at the piano. The Milton Glee Club sing two songs with Reginald Wassell at the organ.
 
June 12th 1959 - George Melachrino and his Full Concert Orchestra play at the Guildhall to a full house. Mick Mulligan and his Jazz band with George Melly, play at the Savoy Ballroom. The Zodiacs play at St Mary's Institute.
 
June 13th 1959 - The Portsmouth Choral Union perform, Handel's "Messiah" at the Guildhall.
 
June 17th 1959 - The Portsmouth Glee Club perform "Merrie England" at the Guildhall.
